This web page sells Solar Powered Utility Grid Intertie Systems.
Utility Grid Intertie systems don't use batteries (except for back-up power during a utility grid power outage). The advantage of the utility grid intertie system is that you "deposit" energy produced during the day with the electric company (while you get paid the peak time rate) and then "withraw" energy at night from the electric company when the rates a lower (assumes you will choose a rate structure that has time of use pricing). That is more efficient than battery charging, helps the electric company to meet peak time (day time) demand, and saves you the expense of buying a bank of batteries. The only time a grid-tie system has batteries is as a back-up power system in case the electric grid has a power outage.
Keep in mind that the total yearly average watt-hours produced during the day is about 3 to 5 hours (polar locations will have less) times the wattage figures given below. 1000 watts = 1 kilowatt = 1 kW. For example, a system that produces 500 watts of power will produce 2.5 kWh of energy in a day that has 5 hours of peak time sun.
The Siemens/Shell Solar kits include all necessary hardware for Solar Powered Utility Grid Intertie Systems, including Siemens SP75 solar modules, universal mounting kits, utility grade DC/AC power inverters, interconnect hardware, etc. The Siemens/Shell kits are the only UL-listed Solar Powered Utility Grid Intertie Systems in the world.

The USA federal governemnt provides tax incentives for businesses to install solar power and purchase clean fuel vehicles. Many USA states also provide income tax and other incentives for the installation of renewable electricity systems and other alternative energy systems for both businesses and residences. For example, the state of California provides numerous tax credits and even Buy Downs/Rebates.
The state of Oregon provides tax credits of up to $1,500 for EACH of the following residential systems: Photovoltaic (solar electric), solar space heating, solar water heating, wind electric power, fuel cells, and geothermal energy (closed-loop geothermal systems and earth-coupled heat pumps/exchangers). Tax credits for businesses (including non-profit organizations via the Pass-through Option) are also available. Low interest loans are also available for residential and commercial owners. Some small tax credits are available for some energy conservation measures and energy efficient appliances.
Hybrid gasoline-electric vehicles (such as the Honda Insight, Honda Civic Hybrid, and Toyota Prius) qualify also qualify for a $1,500 tax credit. Alternative fueled vehicles powered by electricity, natural gas, ethanol, methanol, propane, hythane, biodiesel, gasohol, or hydrogen qualify for a $750 tax credit. Their charging or refueling systems qualify for up to an additional $750 tax credit.
Much more information about state of Oregon tax credits, including how to qualify for them, is available by contacting the Oregon Department of Energy at 1-800-221-8035 or by visiting their website at www.energy.state.or.us.
