News Update: The new name of the business which owns this website is Gavin G. Young Enterprises (the former business name was Renewable Electricity Solutions). In the course of the next several weeks, changes will be made to each page of this website.
This web page provides information about this business.
The business is called Gavin G. Young Enterprises (previously it was called Renewable Electricity Solutions and it was originally called Gavin Young's Install, being named after the owner). It began using its own internet domain name of renewableelectricity.com at the end of 2002 December. The business was started in early 2001 when the owner's hobby for computers became a way to make a living while protecting the environment. The initial purpose of the business was to refurbish and resale previously owned vintage computers and other used electronics. This way they can be reused rather than end up in a landfill. It also helps collectors to find those rare computers. From late 2001 through early 2009 this business solar renewable energy products, but it no longer does so. Currently this business primarily sells Bibles, especially the American Standard Version Holy Bible (the one translated in 1901, not the revision known as the "New American Standard Bible" Holy Bible).
The business is internet based - there is no physical store. However a few Bibles are kept in stock and may be purchased in person.
The owner is deeply concerned about preserving the world's natural resources and environment. On a personal level, the owner does what he can do to recycle and use energy wisely. During the year 2002 his diet has become increasingly plant based (and less meat based). Besides having health benefits, it also helps the environment. That is because fewer crops need to be grown (and thus less fossil fuels used in farm equipment and fuel transportation), if people consume vegetation directly rather than consuming animals. That is because animals (like people) need to consume a lot of food just to maintain their weight. If livestock herds were much smaller (due to people eating less meat), then less crops would be required. More crops would also be available for renewable biofuels (such as biodiesel, straight vegetable oil, and ethanol fuel), thus reducing the need for fossil fuels.
Through conservation the owner has reduced electricity consumption for his internet based home business to about 3 to 4 kW-Hr/day, despite having electric baseboard heating! He would be glad to provide energy conservation tips, via consultation to anyone who is interested. Some of the energy conservation tips are now posted at the section of my other website at "Energy Conservation & Fuel Economy". He lives and works in the Pacific Northwest in Beaverton, OR, USA. Beaverton is a suburb of Portland, OR.
Since 2002 March, all of the electricity purchased for this business and the owner's home is being generated from renewable energy! In addition, salmon habitat restoration is being provided for! This is because the owner signed up for Portland General Electric's (PGE's) Green Energy power option program. PGE is purchasing the energy from Green Mountain Energy. All of the electricy produced in the option is produced by geothermal, biofuels, and wind (15%).
Since the spring of 2002, the owner is doing more walking for trips of under one mile (and thus less driving). Since 2002 August, the owner has taken up bicycling for frequent two mile trips, instead of driving. In 2003 February, the owner purchased an electric scooter, and he uses it for longer trips. The scooter is recharged using renewable electricity purchased from PGE. These actions conserve fossil fuel resources and reduce pollution (since cars are less efficient and produce more pollution while the engines are warming up during short trips - and the resulting pollution is concentrated in the local neighborhood). The increased exercise also has many direct health/fitness benefits. Readers of this website are encouraged to look at ways they can likewise help the environment and improve their health. In the spring of 2007 the business owner sold his only automobile and thus he now solely does errands by means of public transportaion and walking. In 2009 the owner began accelerating the shifting of the focus of the business from being a seller of renewable electricity products to being a seller of hard to find highly accurate Bible translations (especially those which frequently use the Divine Name of God the Father) and other Messianic/Christian religious books.
This business is a Distinguished Member of the Business Recycling Awards Group (BRAG).
The owner of this business has an excellent track record of customer satisfaction. Potential customers can verify this by viewing the owner's feedback standing on his eBay Feedback and eBay About Me pages. That is because the business has been selling solar and other items on eBay for some time. Customers can purchase some of the items from his eBay auctions, or purchase all of the items from this website.
